A THREE PART SERIES: PART ONE
Let’s just put it out there, organic social media doesn’t help you sell cars (directly). But does that mean it has no benefit to your dealership? No! Social media plays an integral part of your overall marketing strategy in three major areas: community outreach, customer appreciation, and event marketing.
Let’s dive in.
What does that mean?
The most successful dealerships do more than just sell and service cars. They are part of their community. They get involved in local events, sponsor local charities, and care about the impact they can make.
So how does that translate to social media? Here is an example. A dealership has offered to partner with a local dog beach. The campaign is, “Like us on Facebook and we will donate a dollar to the dog park.” You can publicize a message like this all over social media. At the end, print an oversized check, take photos of the hand off to the charity, and post that to your social media outlets.
The bottom line, let your followers know that you’re involved in the community and not just concerned about the bottom line. The payoff is that it helps you shed the “shady” connotation of car dealerships and ingratiates you amongst the audience of the charities you support. So next time they’re in the market to buy, who do you think they will think of first? YOU!!!
